Pause Moment

Show up for the moment you keep missing.

The pill, taken. The story, read to the end. Your phone waited.

Pause Moment is a calm, personal phone lock. At the time you chose, your screen locks for a few minutes with your own photo and your own words. No swipe, no snooze, no ads.

The moments it was built for

  1. 8:00 am

The pill is taken. At 11 pm there is no “did I?”

Your medication time arrives and the screen locks for a few minutes with your own photo and the words you wrote to yourself. The reminder cannot be swiped away, so the dose happens while you are looking at why it matters.

    For adults with ADHD
  2. 9:30 pm

The evening dose, taken before the day swallows it.

A few quiet minutes at the end of the day, with the reason you chose this medication written in your own words. No snooze, no guessing tomorrow whether you took it.

    For adults on antidepressants
  3. 7:15 pm

Phone face down. You heard the whole story.

A ten-minute pause at bedtime, dinner, or bath time. The screen locks with a photo of your kids and the words you wrote for yourself. Notifications keep arriving. You do not see them.

For parents who want to be present

Any moment works: a breath before a hard call, a phone-free lunch, a morning without the scroll.

How it works

  1. Pick the time and how long: 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 minutes.

  2. Add your photo and the words you want to read in that moment.

Take a breath. You’ve got this.

  3. When it fires, the screen locks. Tap “I’m Ready” and it holds until the time is up. Then choose “Done” or “I skipped this time.”

See every step of a pause, including calls, Safe People, and what happens when you skip.

Why it works when alarms don’t

Loud reminders train your hand to swipe before your mind catches up. Pause Moment does not get louder. It gets personal, and it waits.

Quiet.
The sound stops the moment you tap I’m Ready, or switch it off. Then the screen just holds.
Personal.
Your photo and your words, not an icon and a beep.
Un-dismissable.
No swipe, no snooze. The pause holds.
No ads, no streaks.
We count pauses, not guilt.
Ezra Halevi, founder of Pause Moment

Built by someone who needed it

I take my own medication every day, and for years I swiped the reminder away before I knew I had done it. Louder alarms made me angrier. Gentler ones I forgot faster. What finally worked was my own photo and my own words, on a screen I could not swipe. Pause Moment is that, made repeatable.

Ezra Halevi, father of three. The whole story.

Your photos and words stay on your phone

No account, no cloud, no ads. Your photos, your words, and your pause history never leave your device. The app sends an anonymous crash report if it breaks, and anonymous usage counts only if you switch that on. The privacy policy lists everything.

Questions people ask before they install

Can I dismiss a pause once it starts?

No. Once you tap “I’m Ready,” the screen locks for the time you chose: 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 minutes. There is no swipe and no exit. When the time ends you choose “Done” or “I skipped this time.” Both are honest answers.

Will I miss phone calls during a pause?

No. Calls come through during a pause by default. If you would rather keep them out, turn on “Protect this pause” for that pause. It uses your phone’s Do Not Disturb while the pause runs and lifts it the moment the pause ends.

Does Pause Moment work offline?

Yes. Your photos, words, pauses, and history all work with no internet, even in airplane mode. The app only goes online to send an anonymous crash report if something breaks, and to send anonymous usage counts if you switch that on.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet. Pause Moment is on Android today. The iOS version is in development, and you can leave your email on the iOS page to get one message when it ships.

Is Pause Moment a medical app?

No. Pause Moment is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. It is not therapy or medical advice. It is a tool for following through on what you and your doctor already decided.

This is not a notification. This is a pause.
